Jessica & Cash Tie The Knot

It looks as if Jessica Alba and her baby daddy Cash Warren weren't lookin' to have a baby out of wedlock because the happy couple just had an eleventh hour wedding to seal deal and become husband and wife before she gives birth to their child:

Mom-to-be Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have gotten married, PEOPLE confirms. The couple quietly wed Monday, says her rep, Brad Cafarelli. According to a source, they were married in the Beverly Hills courthouse's ceremony room under an arch of green silk foliage and white flowers. They were casually dressed, with Alba wearing a long blue dress and her hair back in a ponytail. "She looked happy but nervous," the source says. Warren, in a white shirt and brown pants, arrived with Alba at about 11:30 a.m. on Monday, applied for a marriage license and waited about 40 minutes for the paperwork to be processed before a staff member from the courthouse married them, the source says. Nobody else attended the wedding, the source adds.

Not the most romantic wedding we've heard about lately but they successfully managed to get married without anyone finding out about it until they were ready to make the announcement. They may have sacrificed pomp and circumstance for complete privacy but knowing how Jessica Alba tends to be ... it sounds like the perfect ceremony for the couple. Much congrats, Cashica ... may you have a long and very happy marriage. [Source]

A Lovely Sight

Sarah Jessica Parker took a break from doing promo work for the new Sex and the City movie (due on May 30) to make an appearance at an in-store signing at Sephora on the Champs Elysees in Paris, France yesterday. SJP was in the hiz to sign bottles of her two perfumes called Covet and Lovely ... here are a few pics:

You may recall that commercials for Covet feature a scary-ass SJP breaking into a boutique to get at a bottle of the fragrance because she just "had to have it". Lovely was advertised with a photo of SJP looking lost, confused and deranged. Clearly, her frangrances are marketed towards the insane woman who wants to smell nice. Well, at least SJP still has that Carrie Bradshaw thing to fall back on. [Source]

It Distracts From The Singing

Fergie Ferg was at it again this morning at her appearance on The Today Show this morning. Fergie performed her hit songs Big Girls Don't Cry and Clumsy along with a cover of the Heart classic Barracuda ... which came complete with one-armed somersaults:

The woman is brave as hell to keep attempting moves like this ... on live TV. Of course, the story would be much more interesting if she ended up landing on her head instead of on her feet but she deffo gets props for pulling off this ridiculousness. I think she should quit while she's ahead, tho ... better safe than in traction. [Source]

Friend Of Dorothy

Angelina Jolie and her babydaddy Brad Pitt were all smiles on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of her new movie The Changling. Here are pics of Brangelina at the premiere ... you will note that a very pregs Angelina Jolie is wearing a lovely dress from the Dorothy Zbornak Collection:

Now ... that's a big dress. I understand that Angelina is having twins but this dress seems a bit ... much ... especially when you consider the not-quite-as-large outfits that she has been wearing just this week. At least Ange has a great excuse for wearing something this ... flowy. Bea Arthur had no such excuse when she wore fashions like this as Dorothy on The Golden Girls ... except for the excuse that she was faboo as hell. [Source]

The TV Guide: Caspian See

Last night I got together with Mike, Steph and Alek for a delicious Greek dinner at Ulysses Voyage at The Grove (which had me worried at first because I am used to eating the best Greek food EVER at Pegasus in Detroit's Greek Town) before meeting up with Darion and Josh for a movie. D and J decided we should see The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian so that was the movie du jour:

I quite liked The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe so I was excited to see this new installment. I must admit, the movie is very true to the book but I did find that it lagged a bit thruout most of the run time. At over 2 hours long, the movie doesn't have much action in it. There is a lot of story but not much excitement. I'm not a fan of the not-so-subtle Christian references in the film (which made it feel a bit preachy, especially when the lion Aslan was guilting everybody for not believing in him) but overall, it was very solid and very entertaining. If you're a fan of the book then I think you're gonna love this movie. If you've never read the book nor seen the first Narnia movie (like Mike) then you might end up falling asleep repeatedly, missing out on most of the movie (ahem, like Mike ;) I enjoyed, it is deffo worth seeing.

Here is a cute pic of our foursome in front of the fountain at The Grove after the movie was finished:

Tonight, Jim and I are going to a midnight screening of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ... which I'm very excited for. I have a few more things to take care of before I fly off to NYC for the weekend ... thankfully the weather is beautiful outside to spurn me along on my tasks :)

Guess Who's On The Cover Of People Magazine

Much like they did a few weeks ago with the release of the Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon wedding photos, People magazine has announced that they will release the first Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz wedding photo on their site tomorrow morning at 10AM ET:

And just like with the Mimi and Nick photo, I'm sure that People will only be releasing the cover of their new issue which will, most likely, feature the Ashl33n wedding pic. I wonder how much of People's money that Papa Joe Simpson is walking around with in his pockets these days. [Source]

The NewNowNext Kids On The Block

Last night, LOGO held its inaugural NewNowNext Awards at MTV Studios in Times Square, NYC where a bunch of really fun awards were handed out to some very deserving folks. An academy of voters made up of editors from national gay weeklies and newspapers, artistic directors of gay film festivals, musicians and bloggers voted for the recipients for the on-air component of the NewNowNext Awards which were handed out at the ceremony last night. Here are a few pics from the award show red carpet:

I'm very proud to announce that my boo David Hauslaib's blog Queerty.com was nominated in the TOTALLY MOST RAD SICKEST BLOG EVER category along with my good friend Andy Towle's blog Towleroad.com. Unfortch, they both lost the award to Michael K, who writes the devilishly hilarious DListed.com -- who deserves much love and congrats for the win. Christian Siriano won the NewNowNext Award for MOST ADDICTIVE REALITY STAR, Leona Lewis won the KYLIE AWARD: NEXT INTERNATIONAL CROSSOVER and my favorite thing on Earth EVER Planet Unicorn won the OMFG INTERNET AWARD. Other nominees for these awards include Cheyenne Jackson (Sonny Malone in Xanadu), Xanadu itself, Torchwood and Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt from The Hills. The online awards (which can still be voted for HERE) will be announced simultaneously during the on-air premiere Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 9:00 PM ET/PT on LOGO. This awards show sounds really fun and I love that the categories are whimsical and not at all serious by any means. Congrats to all the winners and make sure you tune in on June 7th to see who else will walk away with one of the first NewNowNext Awards. [Source]

Picture Perfect ... Natch

The perfect little family made up of Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale and Kingston James McGregor spent part of their weekend down in Laguna Beach (the real OC) to frolick and play together in the sand and surf. Here are pics of the happily pregs Gwen with the men in her life (who were wearing matching bathing suits) at a beach down in Laguna this past Saturday afternoon:

Awww ... seriously, these folks are too damn cute for words. If they aren't spending a perfect afternoon at a park, then they are spending a perfect afternoon on a playground or a perfect afternoon at the zoo ... or a perfect afternoon at the beach. Gwen should be birthin' her new baby sometime this year -- my guess, she'll be havin' a girl to add to the perfection -- and I just can't *wait* to see her little family grow. Even tho it's a bit nauseating, I do love seeing happy pics of this perfect little family enjoying life together. [Source]

A Warm Welcome

Vicki B. returned home to LA from her recent business trip to London, England late last week and I've just stumbled upon a couple of new photos from her arrival at LAX Airport. David Beckham, with his kiddies strapped into the backseat, picked up VB from the airport in his new toy -- his new black Jeep. Vicks was so happy to see her husband that she planted a big kiss on his mug as soon as she got into the car ... er, and then it looks like she gave him a little bit more as well:

You know, I'm *sure* that this second photo isn't what it looks like ... I'm sure VB just dropped her lipstick onto the floor and went down to pick it up .... yeah, that sounds about right :)

Here are a couple other new pics of Becks tooling around town in his new toy:

Awww ... isn't it cute when Becks fancies himself a big dawg by driving around in his black Jeep while wearing a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses? I expect that Becks will be spending the summer in his new wheels ... apparently, this is how he rolls.

That's How The Parting Gift Crumbles

Life & Style magazine obtained a couple of goodies from the wedding of Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz which went down over the weekend at the Simpson family home in Encino, CA. There is no word on how the mag obtained these items (or at what cost) but since they have them in their possession, they thought it would be nice to share the wealth with the rest of the world. Here are pics of the Ashl33n wedding invitation and the parting gift that each attendee went home with at the end of the night:

Life & Style has exclusively obtained the gorgeous invitation for Ashlee & Pete's wedding, and a photo of the parting gift for guests. The red and black invitation for the May 17 nuptials reads:

"It's getting late so save the date: Ashlee & Pete, join us May 17, 2008, Los Angeles. Transportation will be provided to the wedding. You will be contacted with additional information."

In lieu of gifts, the couple asked that donations be made to Invisible Children, a nonprofit group the couple has been involved in for more than a year. This invitation was part of a text message and email campaign the couple hurriedly put together before their wedding to let guests know of their special day. As for a parting gift for guests, on their way out of the wedding, they received Alice in Wonderland-inspired cookies (wrapped in a box within a box) that read "Eat me."

A cookie? That is all that wedding guests were given as a parting gift from the wedding? No wonder one of the guests decided to sell their damn cookie and invitation to a weekly tabloid magazine (who, I think, was being generous with the compliments by describing the invitation as "gorgeous"). I dunno ... couldn't the wedding guests have walked away with a nice centerpiece or something? Anything better than a cookie? C'mon ya'll ... the cookie is kinda lame. [Source]

Strange Bedfellows

I'm sorry but ... WHAT? Can someone explain to me why Aubrey O'Day from Danity Kane was seen on the arm and at dinner at the Waverly Inn in NYC last with Jesse McCartney?

Are these two a hot new couple? Is this a ploy to generate buzz for both artists who have just recently released new albums? I hate to be a pessimist but something tells me these pics are more about the latter than the former. Aubrey doesn't strike me as the kind of girl that would go for a youngster like Jesse ... bless his heart tho, I don't blame him for mackin' on Miss O'Day! I find it hard to believe that anything will come of this new union ... but just in case, should I put the name O'Jesse on hold? [Source]

Welcome Back

Britney Spears's much-deserved vacay in Costa Rica has come to an end ... Miss Brit Brit returned to the SoCal area last night and is already back home again. Here are a couple photos of Britney's arrival back in town (click HERE to watch video):

From the looks of the photos that came out of Costa Rica this weekend, Britney really had herself a good ol' time with her family and friends. Not once did we see her with Mel Gibson (who hosted the Britney Bunch at his Cosat Rican compound) but I understand that he was available to "counsel" our dear Britney in between all the fun. I'm not a Mel Gibson fan -- by any means -- nor am I a fan of his beliefs but I can appreciate that he has reached out to help Britney get her life in order and can be commended on that front. As long as Britney continues to heal her life, I can be happy with how she goes about with that healing. I imagine Britney is anxious to spend time with her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, which might account for her return to LA. Welcome back, Britney ... we've missed you :) [Source]

One Year Down ...

Has it been a year of happily wedded bliss already? This weekend was the 1st wedding anniversary of Amy Winehouse and Blake Civil-Fielder and altho the happy couple couldn't be together to celebrate their first anniversary (because hubby Blake is currently in jail serving time for allegedly attempting to pervert justice), Amy did her best to mark the occasion in style:

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse marked her first wedding anniversary to Blake Fielder-Civil with a lonely fish and chip supper after visiting her husband in prison. The couple spent their anniversary apart on Sunday after Amy chose to join troubled rocker Pete Doherty at a charity football tournament in south east London. After missing a prison visit on Friday due to the traffic, Amy abandoned her usual scruffy clothes and dressed up in a pencil skirt and v-neck black top as she dropped by Pentonville Prison for a belated anniversary meeting. Amy usually visits Blake in a pair of high-heels, but opted for her signature ballet bumps for the afternoon trip. Amy and Blake have spent seven months of their brief marriage apart due to the former music video assistant's incarceration as he awaits trial for GBH and attempting to pervert the course of justice. The troubled singer, 24, paid tribute to her husband by placing a cushioned heart with the name Blake splashed across it in her famous beehive. After marking their first year as husband and wife in the visiting room of Pentonville in north London, Amy left the prison beaming to photographers. She stopped off at a local fish and chip for a greasy supper-for-one, which she sadly wasn't able to share with her husband. A change from her usual moody demeanor of recent weeks, an ecstatic Amy looked thrilled to be married for a year, despite the couple's tumultuous 12 months.

I gotta say, kudos to Amy Winehouse for deciding to stay married to her jailbird husband who was forced to leave her after only a few months of wedded bliss. The couple have spent the majority of their marriage apart and yet, here they are celebrating their first wedding anniversary. Perhaps Amy Winehouse is smarter than us all ... perhaps she has figured out the secret to a long and happy marriage? (Perhaps Pete Doherty has found his true calling as a marriage counselor?) In any event, Happy Anniversary Amy & Blake ... you've lasted longer than, I'm sure, most everyone on planet Earth anticipated. [Source]
