I Feel The Need, The Need For Speedo

OMG ... I'm seriously dying ... these pictures of David Beckham running around Roberto Cavalli's private yacht as he vacations with his wife on the Italian Coast are so incredibly hot that they needed a post of their own ... check out the intense hotness:

Apparently, the Beckhams are using this little vacay to spur on a little romance in order to make baby #4: Their marriage has sailed into stormy weather over the past seven years. But it seems that David and Victoria Beckham have finally found calmer seas ... And as the couple enjoyed a leisurely cruise around the Italian coast, they showed they are getting on better than they have done for years. The Beckhams were openly affectionate as they relaxed aboard fashion designer Roberto Cavalli's £20million luxury yacht. "David has been very low and withdrawn since the World Cup disaster and he has really depended on Victoria," a source close to the couple said ... "She is discussing a big deal with Roberto Cavalli and she has even been joking with David that it is his turn to take a breather because she is hoping that soon she will be in a position to support him." The couple, who married in 1999, have also started trying for a fourth child and are said to be desperate for a girl after having three boys. Uh, I somehow doubt that Becks going to have much trouble getting Posh in the mood for baby-makin' if he's wearing little speedos like this. Dayum ... even I'm in the mood for baby-makin' after seeing these pictures. So hot! [Source, Source]

And the news just keeps on getting better ... are the Beckhams looking to move to LA? After conquering most of the known world, English soccer star David Beckham and his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, are readying to bring their media invasion stateside. TMZ has learned they have begun househunting in Los Angeles ... The super couple are looking to set up digs in the affluent Bel Air section of town- home to many of Hollywood's biggest stars and moguls ... The move seems logical since David has already set up a branch of his youth soccer camp, The David Beckham Academy, at Southern California's Home Depot Center. And since murmurs of a Spice Girls reunion never materialized, a move to LA might be the first step towards launching Victoria's Hollywood career. So move over Brangelina, TomKat and Bennifer because Posh and Becks are ready for their closeup! Maybe I'll get to run into Becks himself one day ... maybe he'll be wearing a wet, white speedo ... let's hope that doesn't happen cuz I'm not ready to die yet.

Who's Afraid Of The Big, Bad Wolf?

With the Teen Choice Awards a little under a month away, it looks like Kevin Federline is gettin' serious about preparing for his musical debut. As you are all well aware, K-Fed is performing LIVE! for the first time EVER at the 2006 Teen Choice Awards which air on FOX Sunday August 20th at 8PM. Here are pictures of The Federline on his way to the gym to do a little work-out, presumably, as he gets in shape for his big night:

I'm not sure any amount of preparation will get him ready to thrill any of us, but I suppose he can be commended for giving it a try anyways. I'm not used to talking about how Kevin is doing any amount of work ... it's a strange feeling. I wonder if he realizes that this rap career that he so desperately wants will involve some measure of hard work on his part. I guess we'll eventually see if he has any sort of work ethic to speak of ... after all, he once worked at a car wash ... I'm sure he'll be able to handle the grueling regiment that comes with being a rap supastar. [Source]

There are big changes over at KevinFederline.com. Gone is the blue/black background with the cheesy Flash photo album (and not much else) ... it has been replaced with this simple message:

Hmmm ... simple suits K-Fed ... it's a good way to describe him. Make sure you head on over to the site to hear a slightly revamped version of his song America's Most Hated ... you know, in case you need a good laugh today. [Source]

The Queen of the Universe was crowned last night here in Los Angeles, CA at the 2006 Miss Universe Pageant ... our new ruler hails from Puerto Rico and is named Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza (it's nice to have a Latinoid in charge, for once). Our very own Miss USA, Tara Conner, managed to make the Top 5 but came in as the 4th runner up ... here are a few pictures from that magical night:

An 18-year-old from Puerto Rico who hopes to someday star in U.S. and Latin American films was crowned Sunday night as
Miss Universe 2006. Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza shared a nervous emotional hug with first runner-up, Kurara Chibana of Japan, moments before the winner was announced, then clasped her hands to her mouth in amazement as her name was called ... "I always had faith and confidence in myself, but I never knew I was going to win," Rivera, speaking in Spanish from the stage, said in her first remarks as Miss Universe. The winner, who is from coastal town of Salinas, said she would continue the pageant's mission of promoting awareness and education about AIDS and HIV. "I want to tell those people there's always problems in life, but there's always possibilities to improve things," she said.
Unfortch for the newly crowned Miss Universe, the strain of her win (and apparently the strain of her dress made of metal chains) was a bit too much for her to handle and she fainted about 40 minutes into her reign: She beamed as the crown was placed on her head but briefly fainted after a post-pageant news conference. She quickly recovered after being given liquids, said Miss Universe spokeswoman Esther Swan. Rivera, who was wearing a dress made entirely of metal chains, had been standing under hot stage lights for some time when she began to topple over. Someone caught her as she fell. Heavy is the head that wears the crown -- indeed! Anyways, congrats to Miss Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza on being crowned our new Miss Universe. May her reign be long as prosperous ... er, well as long and prosperous as possible since she only gets to rule for a year. Tara, Miss USA, looked great in the gown that was designed for her by Kayne and Robert on Project Runway. It's great to see that she did wear it as the final results were being announced. [Source]

British popsters McFly paid a little visit to the UK dance club G-A-Y to perform a little set for all the g-a-y-s who flocked out to see them. Not content with merely whipping the crowd into a frenzy with their lush melodies and poetic lyrics the lads decided to rip off all of their clothes to give everyone in attendance a little thrill ... behold:

Ahh ... the boys are smart ones. If you can't wow the crowd with your musical talent, then you might as well wow 'em with anything else you've got at your disposal. Kudos! McFly really know how to satisfy the g-a-y-s. [Source]

The cast of Spider-Man 3 made an appearance on day 3 of the 2006 San Diego Comic Con ... much to the thrill of pretty much everyone in attendance. Here are pictures of Kirsten Dunst (Mary Jane Watson) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Gwen Stacy) trying to appear all chummy at the Spider-Man 3 panel:

Whatevs! I can see right thru them ... you just know that Kirsten ain't all that thrilled with having to share the Spidey lime-light with Bryce. Kirsten has been the only chick in the Spider-Man movies (well, if you forget about Aunt May) and all the sudden she has to compete with little miss Lady in the Water Bryce Dallas Howard? Noooo ... you just know she ain't havin' it. I bet Bryce is all ready to steal her thunder and shizz ... yeah ... well all know what's goin' on here. [Source]

Matthew McConaughey has been spending quite a bit of time at the beach this summer ... and I am very thankful that he has ... here are new pictures of Mr. McConaughey doing a little exercise on the beach ...

... you know, the usual -- a little jogging, a little yoga, a little paparazzi ass-whipping. Isn't yoga supposed to chill people out? Maybe he's doing it wrong. [Source]

My favorite part of Matthew's trips to the beach is the part when he gets all wet as he attempts to surf ... here are new pictures of Matthew catching some waves over the weekend:

Wee! I'm not sure what I like better ... the yoga Matthew or the surfer Matthew. Thankfully, we get to enjoy both! [Source]

Check out this supercute picture of Hilary Duff in her cute little argyle socks as she does a little bowling:

She's becoming quite the little punk dresser, ain't she? I wonder who's been having this influence on her? [Source]

NBC has announced that Madonna will bring her Confessions Tour to their network this fall in a 2-hour primetime concert special. The show will be filmed in London and will air on the network this November:

A two-hour special will be taped this summer at Wembley Stadium in London and shown in November on NBC ... "Madonna is one of the greatest artists of our time and never fails to generate excitement," NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly said Friday. "We think this is going to be a big event for television" ... The network is billing Madonna's special as the first-ever broadcast network performance by the Grammy-winning singer. The special will feature songs from Madonna's latest album, "Confessions on a Dance Floor," along with some of her greatest hits. Wow ... Madonna must have gotten a fat paycheck for this gig ... I really hope that NBC airs this thing without commercials. The best part of seeing concerts like this on TV on networks like HBO or Showtime is that they air commercial-free. Hopefully NBC will do the same. At any rate this is great news!!! [Source]

While this is good news for us, Maddy has some bad news for her legions of Aussie fans ... it turns out that she will not be bringing her tour to the land of OZ:

Boo! It's all Lourdes and Rocco's fault! Those needy kids ... they ruin everything! [Source]

Channing Tatum is featured in the new issue of Elle magazine:

You're welcome. [Source]

Tim Gunn, the scene stealer in every episode of Project Runway, is featured in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly:

Hee hee ... he looks a bit irritated in this picture ... like he's sittin' on a bunch of painful hemorrhoids or something. It don't matter ... I still love Tim Gunn. He's awesome! [Source]

Nelly Furtado is in the new issue of Spin magazine ... here are a couple pictures from her photoshoot:

Boy, she is really working her new single Promiscuous, ain't she? I really hope she can pull off another hot single soon before her momentum dies down. Maneater just ain't that hot single I was hoping for ... I wonder what's coming next. [Source]

Yesterday I posted a picture of Pink reader Molly posing with her (out-of-print) limited edition Pink is the new Blog t-shirt on the Great Wall of China ... today, Pink reader Mark (from Detroit Rock City) sends in his picture, also taken on the Great Wall, from his trip to China in May of this year:

I love it! The Great Wall has been reppin' PITNB a lot lately! Thank you so much for sending in these pictures ... I love seeing the shirt in exotic locales all around the world. [thanks Mark]

**This t-shirt was sold back in December and is long out of print ... I am in the process of working up some new shizz that will hopefully be available later on this year :)

And finally, I have to send out lots of Birthday LURVE to my fave Jenny from the Block -- La Diva Latina herself -- Jennifer Lopez:

J. Lo turns 37 years old today ... but boy, she still looks hot! She may have questionable taste in men (well, okay ... she ain't got no taste in men) but I still love her. Happy Birthday, J. Lo!!! XOXO

Les News:
David and I spent the afternoon yesterday hanging out around town ... we had a great late lunch at Home in Los Feliz before going to the Coffee Bean for come caffeinated drinkies. I about flipped my shizz when Nicolas Brendon from Buffy the Vampire Slayer walked in. I'm like 99.9% sure it was him ... and he looked good. I suppose it could have been his twin brother Kelly but I choose to believe it was Nicolas. Of course I was way too freaked out to talk to him so I didn't ... I didn't have my camera anyways so I decided to just admire him from afar (and boy did I admire ... he was wearing a tank top and shorts ... and he was back to his skinny hot self). Hello ... it was Xander from Buffy ... of course I was too chicken to talk to him. I just found out that Nicolas is starring in a play here in LA called Lobster Alice. The show runs until September but I'm gonna try and go later on this week ... I'll deff bring my camera in the hopes that I get the guts to introduce myself to him.

After food and drink, David and I went back to the Arc Light to see Lady in the Water in the Dome theater. We pretty much went in with open minds ... and I found that the movie wasn't as terrible as some people are making it out to be. It's not great ... but not the horrid mess you may be led to believe:

The first thing that struck me was how painfully obvious the set up was ... but of course an apartment full of freaks is bound to attract a sea nymph ... duh, everyone knows that! Overall the movie has a very interesting premise and I can appreciate that M. Night was going for a modern fairy tale -- the problem with a modern fairy tale (even a well-executed one) is that it's going to come across corny. The audience spent way too much time laughing at the things that were happening in the movie ... in places that weren't meant to be funny. There were a lot of things wrong with the tale over all ... how is it that the old woman could remember so vividly the details of the Narf tale that was told to her by her great, great grandmother? Why was Story living in that pool? Once she was in danger, why didn't she just hide out in there? Did her place remind anyone else of the Little Mermaid's little hide out full of gadgets and gizmos aplenty? Sure, you can say "well, those things happened because it's a fairy tale", but that strikes me as a bit of a cop out. A little explanation would do wonders for believability. The audience can only take so much at face value before they start to lose interest.

M. Night Shyamalan comes across as a wee bit egotistical in this film ... he not only puts himself in the movie, but appears not as a regular character but as "the vessel" who will write the book that will inspire a leader that will change the world ... um ... do you suppose that he believes that his movies will do the same thing? Seriously? C'mon now. The fact that he put himself in this movie in this role was a bit irritating.

I didn't hate the movie, I can totally appreciate what was trying to be achieved ... I guess I can applaud the notion but the execution was pretty poor. The whole thing felt extremely weak ... it wasn't believable at all. I'm not even referring to the fact that this is a fantastical tale that is meant to be mythic and magical ... within the realm of the movie (i.e. if you take what is happening at face value) the story still wasn't believable. Why was everyone so open to believing what was going on so quickly? If they were meant to believe merely because they were the chosen humans then I can understand ... but none of this was ever explained. Give the audience a reason to believe and they just might actually want to believe.

This is not the worst movie I've ever seen ... I was entertained for the most part ... but it wasn't great. If you're curious, you should definitely check it out ... if you think you're going to hate it based on what you've heard, then you prolly will hate it. I'm glad I saw it ... I don't think I ever need to see it again tho.

On the way out of the Arc Light we ran into Andy Hurley, the drummer from Fall Out Boy, who was going into the theater area. It's so strange to just run into famous people all over the place. I love it here!

Tonight, David and I are going to the Gnarls Barkley after-party put on by the Target Red Room at the Avalon. Both Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse will be there so it should be a fun night.

That's about it for now ... I am out.
